Curtains (On The White Side of Town). The town of Elaine, Arkansas, remains deeply divided along racial lines. More than a century after the Elaine Massacre of 1919, one of the deadliest racial conflicts in U.S. history, the community has yet to heal. Harlan Bozeman, 2024 CatchLight Global Fellow, has spent years documenting the legacies of slavery in the American South.
